Welcome to the Choice Advice Service

The Choice Advice Service (CAS) currently provides support to Leicester residents in relation to school admissions and related enquiries. As this is a non-statutory service, the decision has been made to decommission the service from 1 September 2026 and incorporate key elements of its functionality within the School Admissions Service.

As a result, with immediate effect, any future enquiries that would previously have been directed to the Choice Advice Service should now be referred to the School Admissions Service at admissions.online@leicester.gov.uk or on 0116 454 1009 (option 1), which will be the primary point of contact for advice and support relating to school admissions matters.

About Us

The Choice Advice Service (CAS) Leicester is an independent service that offers free, confidential and impartial information about the admissions process, supports parents and carers to complete the application process and provides information and advice on the appeals process.

How We Can Help

We can offer you advice and information about schools and their locations. We can also give you practical support with tasks such as understanding the admissions and appeals processes and completing the online admissions application form.

What We Don’t Do

The Choice Advice Service has no influence over the allocation of school places – this process is managed by Leicester City Council Admissions Department.

We are happy to provide information about schools, however we cannot recommend a school.
